Baseball Majors 2016

Baseball season has finally begun. Saturday was our Opening Day as it has been delayed because of all the rain we’ve been having. We already Won our first 2 games. I got a hit each game so far, so I’m feeling pretty good about that.

I have totally new teammates that I never had before.

Well,  I actually had 2 of them before. They are a great bunch of kids.

My favorite person is my coach.

I am usually hesitant about coaches because lots of them don’t understand that because of my Dyslexia I get confused with fielding & my lefts & rights & I’m not the greatest batter, but this year I have Mr. Breen. He was actually the first coach I had when I started out 2 years ago.

He is amazing & understanding & teaches us & especially me. He takes the time out to talk to me before I bat & he helps me to be a better player. When we are playing the outfield Mr Breen also tells us where the play is going to be. He will holler out, “Plays at first” or “plays at home”. This helps me a lot because I usually have No idea where the play is supposed to be & if the ball comes to me I have to know where to throw it.

Having an active coach who communicates with his players is the best thing athletes can have no matter what age. Oh, & the most important part, Mr. Breen never screams at me or the team when we mess up or strike out. He helps us, he knows we don’t want to strike out or miss catching a high fly. He talks to us & gives us advice on how to attack it the next time. I always welcome coaching advice because I want to be the best player I can be. It’s nice not to be afraid of your coach or feel like u disappointed him. We all want to do well… & Our coaches encourage us to get there..

ok, gotta go get dressed for my game, I’ll let u know how it goes today..

I hope I get to pitch today!

Guess what? I got to pitch..

They put me in at the top of the 5th inning, with 2 outs & a new batter..

I struck him out!!

Then I went in for the 6th inning…& with the help of my outfield teammate making an unbelievable catch & last out, we won the game!!

Can’t wait for our next game..
